Here are some ideas for your index cards. Once you have worked out how to use them you
can make them up for any topic you really want to learn. You write the words in RED on one side of the card and the words in BLUE on the other side.
Card ONE:
Photosynthesis is the conversion of carbon
dioxide and water into a sugar called glucose using sunlight energy. Oxygen is produced as
a waste product.
Chlorophyll is the green chemical needed by
plants for this process.
Card TWO:
Respiration is the release of energy from
glucose or another organic chemical.
Aerobic Respiration requires oxygen.
Anaerobic Respiration does not require oxygen
and releases less energy.
Card THREE:
A balanced diet is one which contains
carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral salts and fibre in the correct proportions
You will find more suggestions like these at the bottom of other pages. So when you
have read the page, you can make up your index card and add it to your revision pack.
When you have two or three minutes to spare, take the card from the top of the pack and
read one side. Can you remember what it says on the other side. Great, now you can put the
card to the bottom of the pack and go on to the next card. If you cannot remember the
definition, you have to turn the card over and then repeat the information several times
before you put the card back on top of the pack.
